Longtime tech industry pundit Tim O'Reilly sat down with Information Week to talk about the future of business, society, and the enterprise.

Here's what he says enterprises must do to compete in a changing business environment.

Researchers from Stanford University and University of California, San Francisco tested Siri, Cortana, S Voice and Google Now to see how they responded to physical complaints and psychological distress, with researchers telling the digital assistants they were having heart attacks or felt suicidal.

The results weren’t brilliant, with variations on “I don’t understand” or useless quips about going outside for a break.

“Currently, many consumer devices have a specific name that causes them to react – for example, ‘OK Google’ – and specific ways of issuing commands,” Lenke says.“But, when you have hundreds of different devices, it becomes extremely challenging for consumers to remember all the different ways of engaging with [them].
